Interface Converters allow connection and interoperability of equipment having dissimilar combinations of standard communication interfaces.  Interface converters allow for differences in both physical connectors and signal levels. 1500wRack.GIF (25595 bytes)
All models have two dissimilar communication ports.  An internal switch selects which port will have the appearance of a DCE interface and which will have the appearance of a DTE.  LED indicators show activity on the line and assist with troubleshooting.

Interface Converters are transparent to all data, clock and frame formats; and can operate at transmission speeds up to E1 (2.048Mbps).  They can operate in full and half-duplex environments, and are available in stand-alone (Model 1500) and rackmount (Model 1500R) versions.

to a DB37 cable connector.

The stand-alone converters are housed in metal enclosures with a switchable 115/230VAC 50/60Hz power supply.  The rackmount converters are plug-in boards that mount in, and draw power from, Universal Mount Chassis (UMC) or TRI-PAK Space Saver Chassis card cages.  Their port connectors are mounted on each individual board so that they are accessible at the rear of the chassis.

All port connectors on Interface Converters are female.  RS232 and RS530 connectors are DB25F.  V.35 connectors are M34F.  X.21 connectors are DB15F.  RS449/422 ports use a DB25F connector along with a 1 foot adapter cable that provides a DB37F cable connection.
